Step 1
Apply glue to the top of the cross support. Put the hinge rail in place and make sure it is flush with the front of the cross support and overhangs equally on both sides. Clamp the hinge rail to the cross support.
Step 2Put the lid in place making sure it is flush with both ends of the hinge rail. Use a quarter to gauge the space between the hinge rail and the lid, checking the space at the middle and both ends. Center the piano hinge over the space and predrill holes for the hinge screws.
