Wainscoting and Corner Blocks
Some people shy away from wainscoting and other wall treatments, fearing that they will be too much. But consider that vast expanses of plain drywall can be a virtual stylistic desert.
With that view, wall treatments can be as refreshing as an oasis. Corner blocks are another stylistic problem-solver, as well as being an antidote to miter phobia.
In the bathroom pictured, for example, the door casing appears to be Victorian and the wall treatment Arts and Crafts, but the shared color unites the two styles.
Beaded-board wainscoting, shown in the photo with the wineglass racks, is surprisingly affordable and easily adds style to a room.
